City Seeks Community Input on Walking and Bicycling in Half Moon Bay
Survey is part of Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan process

HALF MOON BAY, CA – The City of Half Moon Bay is encouraging community members to fill out a short survey which will help to create a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan for the City. The Plan will use community and stakeholder input combined with technical analyses to make recommendations for bikeway, pedestrian, and trail networks intended to improve safety, comfort, and connectivity throughout Half Moon Bay.

The short survey is online now at www.hmboutdoors.com, and will be available until September 1, 2017.

Input from the survey will help the City to better understand the community’s desires as to where sidewalks or walking paths, street crossing, bikeways, and other pedestrian and bicycle improvements are needed. All survey responses will be anonymous. When complete, the Plan will make recommendations for specific future projects, further studies, and programs that address education, encouragement, enforcement, and evaluation around bicycle and pedestrian issues.  The final Plan will include a list of prioritized improvement projects with cost estimates and potential funding sources for implementation.

Community members are invited to submit one survey per person, and are encouraged to share the survey link with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. The survey and more information about the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan are online at www.hmboutdoors.com. On that website, community members will also see information about the City’s Parks Master Plan, which will strive to achieve a variety of park facilities and amenities throughout the community.
