2023 Listening Sessions/Priority Setting Session

City Council Priority Setting Session

With the community’s help, the City has continued to develop its priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. As has been done in previous years, the process started with virtual community listening sessions which were held in February and March. Feedback from the community was also collected via the City’s website. A summary of the listening sessions can be found here.

On Wednesday April 19, the City held its annual Priority Setting Workshop during which the City Council reviewed the feedback collected from the community and staff, and discussed the priority areas for the City for the upcoming year. Ultimately, they confirmed the existing five high-level policy areas of priority focus:

  • Economic Recovery and Development
  • Public Health, Safety, and Emergency Preparedness
  • Community and Climate Resiliency/Sustainability
  • Affordable Housing
  • Transportation, Circulation and Mobility

City staff is preparing specific action plans for each of the priority areas, which will be presented to the Council during the City’s budget hearings in June.
