The core services of the Sustainability division help the City of Half Mon Bay become a leader in environmental sustainability issues by establishing policies, implementing projects, and creating programs to decrease the City's environmental impact and carbon footprint. 

In response to the City Council identifying sustainability as a priority in FY 2019-20, staff developed the Sustainability Implementation Plan (PDF), which outlines opportunities to implement sustainable policies, programs, and projects within the City of Half Moon Bay. Activities include: 

• Writing, adopting, and implementing the Climate Action and Adaptation Plans
• Oversight of the Solid Waste Franchise Agreement
• Public Outreach and Education
• Coordinate Beach Cleanup Efforts
