Poplar Street Traffic Calming, Safety, and Greening Project (Complete Street Project)

Project Description: The project provides improvements that offer safe access to areas like Poplar Beach, the Coastal Trail, and the City's shopping district. The project limits are from Main Street to Railroad Avenue. The anticipated enhancements include pedestrian and bicycle access, storm drainage improvements, traffic calming measures and alternatives; they will vary from block to block and not all will be incorporated.

Funding Source(s): One Bay Area Grant 2 - Transportation for Livable Communities and City General Fund

Latest Update: 4/25/19 - The City has solicited proposals from design and environmental firms for the project. On May 7, 2019, the City Council will be presented with a report to award a contract and commence with the design and environmental process. The scope of work for the consultant team includes public outreach which will once again commence in Summer/Fall 2019. Once dates are identified, notifications and website updates will be provided for all interested stakeholders.
