Class Name: On-line Drivers Education Course (Ages 15+)

Instructor: Economic Driving School - Online

Class description: Students with busy schedules and extracurricular activities sometimes choose to fulfill their state-required Driver Education requirement by taking the course online. The Online Drivers Education course is approved by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Reading, flash graphics, videos, quizzes, and practice tests will prepare the participant to pass the written DMV test. The course is easy to use. Class Name: Outdoor Puppy Kindergarten

Instructor: Marian Pott

Class Description: Each week we’ll discuss matters pertaining to puppies: feeding, eating habits, housebreaking, crate/confinement, bite inhibition, exercise, play, destruction, etc. Training skills will involve human and canine socialization, sit, down, stays, proper leash walking, recall, leave-it, off, hand signals, all at your pup’s developmental level.  AKC Star Puppy Program optional—see akc.org or ask instructor for details PRIOR to start date.  Email/call:  Marian Pott @ miramark9@comcast.net 650-888-7445 for any questions. 

Equipment Each Week: Mat (crate-size to fit your puppy’s body size), 6-foot leash, flat collar, ziploc bag with kibble dinner (if they love their kibble) AND/OR treat pouch loaded with yummy meaty/cheesy treats, favorite tug toy/ball, water/bowl.  NO BOWL SHARING! Optional equipment: crate, xpen, potty pads, chain martingale collar.  DO NOT FEED DINNER BEFORE CLASS.

Eligibility:  Puppies 12 weeks to 6 months (for puppies outside of this range, please contact me for eligibility questions).  Young puppies must have had at least a veterinary health check plus 1st set of shots; older puppies must have 2nd set or completion of vaccine regime. All puppies must exhibit good health before coming to each class. PLEASE DON’T COME TO CLASS IF YOU’RE FEELING ILL FOR ANY REASON. MASKS REQUIRED for ALL!

Class Name: Outdoor Beginning Dog Training

Instructor: Marian Pott

Class Description: Open to all puppies/adolescents at least 6 months old AND adolescent or adult dogs with little or no prior training (this class is next progression for puppies which have had any Puppy K class).  Loose-lead walking, heeling, auto sit, down, stay, come, off, leave-it, wait, hand signals, socialization.  Equipment:  6-foot leash attached to a HUNGRY dog’s flat collar (training collars will be demonstrated), treats your dog LOVES, treat pouch, toy, crate mat/rug--sized appropriate for your dog.  Dogs MUST come with a neck collar but do bring any other equipment already in use.

General Rules:  Please potty and clean up after your dog as appropriate—try to avoid pottying them within the working area.  Leash must be in the hands of adult or responsible teen at all times--minimum age of primary leash handler is 13.  Any questions or concerned about your dog’s behavior, i.e., fear, aggression?  Contact Marian at 650-888-7445 or miramark9@comcast.net.

Class Name: Outdoor Intermediate Dog Training

Instructor: Marian Pott

Class Description: This class is for people with active dogs with strong foundational skills and ready for more—advanced beginning through intermediate levels—dogs will work at appropriate level for age/training level.  All dogs must have had the equivalent of a beginning level class (not just Puppy K).

Equipment to bring to EACH class:  Six-foot leash attached to a HUNGRY dog’s flat collar and/or training collar; long line and/or flexi (no harnesses); yummy variety of meaty/cheesy treats (your dog’s idea of “wow!”); dog crate mat/rug for stay exercises; water for your dog (no bowl sharing); tug toy, ball, etc., for reward and fetch work.  Skills to train: attention heeling; recall games; quick downs and sits; mat stays; hand signals; finishes; jumping; clicker training (optional).
