Half Moon Bay 2022 State of the City Address – Tuesday, December 20
The pre-recorded Half Moon Bay 2022 State of the City Address will be shown during the December 20 City Council meeting on December 20 at 7 p.m., and then be available for convenient viewing on the City’s website afterwards. This year’s theme is “Rebuilding, Reconnecting, and Reimagining,” and will be presented by Mayor Debbie Ruddock.
Despite the many challenges, difficulties, and losses, the City and the community have endured the worst of the pandemic, and now we’re making progress toward an improved tomorrow.
This State of the City address will focus on the City Council’s priorities, and how they are positioning us for rebuilding and enhancing our local economy, reconnecting our community members with each other and with the City, and reimagining what the City and the people who live and work here want to achieve, as a community, for the future.

2021 State of the City
The theme for this year’s Half Moon Bay State of the City Address is “recovery.” Many in our community are working hard to continue their own recovery from the many challenges, obstacles, and life-changes that we’ve all had to endure during the last two years. This community effort reflects the strength and resilience of the people who live and work here.
The City’s own recovery efforts continue, in partnership with the community, various agencies, other cities, the county, and our state and federal representatives. In fact, it is only through such a partnership that we will be able to continue moving toward a full recovery from the pandemic.
This State of the City Address focuses on recovery as it relates to the City’s five identified priorities: Affordable Housing, Public Health, Safety, and Emergency Preparation, Community Climate Resilience and Sustainability, Economic Recovery and Development, and Redistricting.
Each of these priorities support recovery - each brings benefit to our community and helps strengthen the foundation which we all share. And we build upon this foundation through our work every day, toward a wonderful future for our residents, our families, our seniors, our youth, and our businesses.
Please take a few minutes to watch this pre-recorded State of the City video, to learn about Half Moon Bay’s progress and advancement of its key priorities, and our determination to continue striving toward recovery.
