- The Library is inviting teenagers in our community to help plan the new library's teen space. They are being asked to help choose new furniture, technology, and other features that will make the teen space an inviting and useful place. It's a "Pizza and Planning Party" on Tuesday, June 20 at 2 pm. The planning party will be at the library's temporary location at 225 S Cabrillo Highway, #104B. Teens can earn 1 hour of community service for their participation.
- The construction remains on schedule and work is progressing smoothly. The concrete walls have been built, and installation of the water and sewer services and storm drain systems is continuing. The structural steel posts and beams are being erected and the concrete slab for the building is scheduled to be poured and finished by the end of June. The metal deck for the second floor is on site, with installation anticipated to begin later this month.
